Ms. Yamamoto, Associate Attorney, represents insurance carriers, self-insured employers and public entities in all aspects of workers’ compensation. She is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where she teaches legal writing and research, as well as moot court.
Before joining Michael Sullivan & Associates, Ms. Yamamoto was an Associate Attorney for Finnegan, Marks, Theofel & Desmond in San Francisco, also practicing workers’ compensation defense. Her caseload included complex matters involving medical review and network disputes, cumulative trauma claims with multiple carriers and disputed dates of injury, and contribution/reimbursement claims.
As a Law Clerk at the Rencher Law Group in San Francisco, Ms. Yamamoto conducted client intake interviews and prepared hearing and trial materials. She also drafted documents and correspondence for personal injury claims, contract disputes and landlord-tenant matters. She simultaneously served as Student Counsel on the Hastings Appellate Project, representing an immigrant’s case before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. Under attorney supervision, she drafted the trial opening and reply briefs, and presented oral arguments.
Ms.Yamamoto received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of California Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, where she was Articles Editor for Hasting Law Journal. She also was a moot court competitor, and served as a Board Member for the Hastings Moot Court. She received her undergraduate degree, with high honors, from the University of California, Berkeley.
