Ms. Collins, Associate Attorney, represents self-insured employers, third-party administrators and corporations in all aspects of workers’ compensation.
While awaiting her Bar results, Ms. Collins worked for the firm as a receptionist, and also reviewed legal documents and conducted research.
She decided on a legal career after spending several years in the e-textbook industry. She was a Media Specialist for the Alternate Text Production Center in Camarillo, where she produced electronic and Braille textbooks for students with disabilities. In addition to assisting with material design and quality control, Ms. Collins trained junior employees in e-textbook preparation.
During law school, Ms. Collins was a Law Clerk for the Children’s Rights Clinic, a program administered by Southwestern Law School. Her work as an advocate for low-income children included interviewing disabled and traumatized clients and assisting in the review of psychoeducation documents. She conducted research in education law, and drafted documents and memoranda relating to violations of student rights.
Ms. Collins received her Juris Doctor from Southwestern law School in Los Angeles, where she received a Dean’s Merit Award. She also received a CALI Award (computer-assisted legal instruction) in education law, and a Witkin Award for Legal Analysis and Writing Skills. She received her undergraduate degree from California State University, Northridge, where she was on the Dean’s List and received the Lonnie S. Turner Award as the Outstanding Junior in Political Science.
