Ms. Talley, Supervising Attorney, is a bar-certified Specialist in Workers' Compensation Law. She oversees the work of junior attorneys, and handles a significant caseload of workers’ compensation defense files from inception to resolution. Before her promotion, Ms. Talley was an Associate Attorney for the firm, representing insurance carriers, self-insured employers and public entities in all aspects of workers’ compensation defense.
Before joining Michael Sullivan & Associates, Ms. Talley was an Associate Attorney at the City Attorney’s Office in Bakersfield, where she assisted outside counsel representing the city’s interests in workers’ compensation claims. She also represented the Bakersfield Police and Fire departments, and the City Manager and City Clerk’s offices.
As a Junior Staff Attorney at the Initiative Legal Group in Los Angeles, Ms. Talley assisted senior attorneys in hearing preparation and settlement review, and researched statutory and case law regarding wage-and-hour issues.
As a law student, Ms. Talley worked at the Parole Representation Clinic, where she handled parolees’ cases and advocated for their rights before the parole board. As a Law Clerk at Timothy M. Cary & Associates in Sacramento, she negotiated personal injury settlements with insurance carriers, and assisted staff attorneys in preparing for depositions and court appearances. She also worked as a Law Clerk at the District Attorney’s offices for Los Angeles and Sacramento counties, where she assisted Deputy District Attorneys in filing motions, conducting research and drafting memoranda on evidentiary issues.
Ms. Talley received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, where she was on the Dean’s List for two years. She was a quarterfinalist in the National Criminal Procedure Moot Court Competition, and a Top 15 Oralist in a regional round of the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Ms. Talley received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
She is fluent in Tagalog.
