Mr. Sahni, Senior Attorney, represents insurance carriers, self-insured employers and public entities in all aspects of workers’ compensation. Before his promotion, he was an Associate Attorney in the Emeryville office.
Before joining Michael Sullivan & Associates, he served as Associate General Counsel for two companies, BioCell Technology and GMP Laboratories of America, both in Orange County. As in-house counsel, he advised BioCell in matters of research, development, branding and distribution. He also litigated and managed matters including trademark infringement and bankruptcy, and drafted and negotiated licensing agreements. As in-house counsel for GMP, he litigated and managed workers’ compensation, Labor Code 132a and wrongful termination claims. He also counseled the company’s Human Resource Department in all employee matters.
Mr. Sahni was a Law Clerk for both BioCell and GMP, and previous to that experience, a Legal Extern for two companies. He conducted client interviews for the employment law firm of Pedersen McQueen in Irvine, where he assessed insurance and employment matters, as well as drafted memoranda on the FEHA, Family and Medical Leave Act, and Industrial Welfare Commission orders. At Sunrider International in Torrance, he conducted product research, drafted vendor agreements and reviewed FDA regulations pertinent to its products.
As Legal Intern for the Law Office of Waukeen Q. McCoy in San Francisco, Mr. Sahni conducted research for medical malpractice, wrongful termination and police misconduct cases. He also drafted a variety of legal documents. As Legal Intern for the Law Office of Michael Akana in Hayward, he conducted client intake interviews and assessed their bankruptcy cases.
Mr. Sahni received his Juris Doctor degree from Western State University College of Law in Fullerton, where he earned the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Negotiations, a place on the Honor Roll and participated in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. He received his undergraduate degree from San Jose State University.
Mr. Sahni speaks conversational Hindi and Punjabi.
