Ms. Mikaelian, Associate Attorney, represents self-insured employers, third-party administrators and corporations in all aspects of workers’ compensation. She brings particular expertise to the cross-examination of medical evaluators, and negotiation settlements of cases-in-chief.
Before joining Michael Sullivan & Associates, Ms. Mikaelian was an Associate Attorney with Testan Law in Long Beach, where she refined her litigation skills in workers’ compensation defense, managing as many as 90 cases simultaneously. She devised comprehensive discovery plans, represented clients at trials, hearings and arbitrations and negotiated case-in-chief and lien settlements. She appeared before WCABs throughout Southern California. Ms. Mikaelian started with the firm as a Law Clerk for two summers during law school, and before she passed the Bar exam. Her duties included conducting research, attending depositions and hearings, reviewing medical records and analyzing settlement terms and lien claims.
Ms. Mikaelian received her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola LawSchool in Los Angeles, where she was a member of the Armenian Law Students Association and a Contributing Author to The California International Law Journal, in which she published an article about the legal dispute between Apple, Inc. and the FBI. She also volunteered for the International Human Rights Clinic and the Center for Conflict Resolution. Ms. Mikaelian received her undergraduate degree from California State University, Northridge, where she was on the Dean’s List all four years.
Ms. Mikaelian is fluent in Russian.
