Ms. Lee plays a key role in Michael Sullivan & Associates' Audits and Regulatory Compliance Department, which offers comprehensive audit defense and general consulting services for self-insured and insured employers, as well as third-party administrators. Ms. Lee brings more than 30 years of expertise in California’s workers’ compensation regulations and takes pride in ensuring the industry is well-educated in workers’ compensation regulation.
Ms. Lee began her career in workers' compensation regulation as a workers’ compensation compliance officer and promoted to Manager and Director of the Audit and Enforcement Unit for the Department of Industrial Relations Division of Workers' Compensation. She was one of the four pioneers who built the state of California’s audit apparatus as part of the 1989 workers’ compensation reform. During her 20-year tenure with the Department of Industrial Relations Division of Workers' Compensation, Ms. Lee oversaw five regulatory changes.
Before joining Michael Sullivan & Associates, Ms. Lee served as the Director of Compliance at a prominent third-party administrator. In this role, she managed performance and accountability reporting, conducted state audits, and provided educational support to ensure compliance with California's workers' compensation laws.
Ms. Lee holds a B.A. from California State Polytechnic University where she majored in political science with a minor in public administration.
Ms. Lee and her husband of 44 years are the proud parents of two wonderful and accomplished sons. She is active in her church and has served as the finance director. Ms. Lee is also a Board member of WorkComp Central and Employers’ Fraud Task Force.
