Mr. Matheson, senior attorney, represents insurance carriers, self-insured employers and public entities in all aspects of workers’ compensation defense. Mr. Matheson brings an excellent track record in previous workers’ compensation practice including take nothing decisions and successful investigation and discovery of fraud.
Before joining Michael Sullivan & Associates, Mr. Matheson was partner at Witzig Hannah Sanders and Reagan, LLP. He has previously worked as an associate trial attorney for the Law Offices of David J. Larkin.
Mr. Matheson also worked for the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office as a deputy district attorney. Prior to that, he served as a law clerk for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of California, for the Santa Cruz District Attorney’s Office, and as an administrative assistant for the California Department of Justice Attorney General’s Office. Mr. Matheson received his Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University, where he received the Law Faculty Scholarship all three years. He also holds a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley.
Outside of work, Mr. Matheson enjoys the outdoors, golfing, and the beach, especially with his wife and 2-year old.
