Harbiks Garabedi, partner, is a bar-certified specialist in Workers’ Compensation. He represents employers, insurance carriers, self-insured entities, public agencies, and corporations in workers’ compensation matters throughout California. Mr. Garabedi advises clients on litigation strategy, case valuation, exposure, and resolution, with a focus on practical, efficient outcomes aligned with broader business and risk-management objectives. His practice includes the defense of complex claims for employers across a range of industries.
Before joining Michael Sullivan & Associates, Mr. Garabedi practiced at Stander Reubens Thomas Kinsey, where he represented Fortune 500 companies in workers’ compensation matters, and at the Law Offices of Friedman and Bartoumian, where he represented insurance carriers, self-insured employers, and uninsured employers.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Garabedi worked as an auto claims examiner with 21st Century Insurance. His experience in claims administration, together with prior work in construction operations, provides him with a practical understanding of claims evaluation, workplace issues, and the operational considerations facing employers.
Mr. Garabedi earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School, graduating in the top twenty percent of his class. While at Loyola, he served as a research assistant to Professor Hiro Aragaki, as a judicial extern to the Honorable Gary A. Feess of the United States District Court, and competed in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Hong Kong. He earned his B.A. in History from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society.
Mr. Garabedi has been recognized as a Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star for multiple consecutive years. He is fluent in Armenian.
