Mr. Carstens, Associate Attorney, represents insurance carriers, self-insured employers, and public entities in all aspects of workers’ compensation. He joined the firm as a law clerk and was subsequently promoted to Associate Attorney.
Prior to joining Michael Sullivan & Associates, Mr. Carstens served as a student intern tax attorney for the University of San Diego Federal Low Income Tax Clinic. He also worked as a student intern for the Law Office of Binh Bui.
Before pursuing a career in law, Mr. Carstens worked as a guest service agent for Naumi Hotels International in Wellington, New Zealand, and Omaha Marriot.
Mr. Carstens received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he had a dual concentration in International and Business Law and was published in the San Diego International Law Journal. Mr. Carstens also holds a B.A. in History from the University of California, San Diego. Outside of work, he can be found riding his motorcycle and playing ultimate frisbee. Mr. Carstens is also a proud Eagle Scout.
