Mr. Bush, associate attorney, represents the defense in workers’ compensation claims. He conducts research, drafts documents and correspondence, and assists in discovery and the analysis of medical reporting.
Before joining Michael Sullivan and Associates, Mr. Bush served as an administrative judge for the California Unemployment Appeals Board where he heard more than 300 administrative law appeals by claimants, employers, and the Employment Development Department. He is Judge Pro Tempore before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, first appointed in 1985.
He has previously served as a court-appointed Arbitrator for the Superior Court of California, Riverside County for 25 years, hearing and issuing awards for plaintiffs and defendants in personal injury matters, first appointed in 1991. He served as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Civil, Criminal, and Small Claims divisions of the Hemet Civil Court, first appointed in 1985.
Previously, Mr. Bush was the owner and head attorney of John C. Bush and Associates, where he specialized in personal injury and workers’ compensation matters. He has completed Jury trials to verdict in the Superior Courts for Inyo, Mono, San Bernardino, Riverside and San Diego Counties
Mr. Bush holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Western State University in Irvine California. There Mr. Bush was the first Chief Justice of the law schools Moot Court, upon formation, 1975-76. He also tutored as a volunteer for the Minority Affairs Law Students Association (MALSA) in Torts, and also, Agency and Partnerships courses.
