Kelly Champ, associate attorney, is an experienced litigator who represents both public and private employers in connection with labor and employment and complex litigation matters.
Before joining Michael Sullivan and Associates, Kelly worked for prominent local and international law firms, such as Steptoe & Johnson LLP and Crowell and Moring, LLP, representing corporate clients and high net worth individual in complex commercial actions. Kelly’s experience involves both single plaintiff and class action and PAGA employment matters, in addition to other commercial litigation matters. Kelly has also worked on appellate briefs, including opening, respondent, and reply briefs before the appellate state courts.
Kelly has litigated and advised on difficult procedural and substantive issues, including Anti-SLAPP, bankruptcy, trademark, antitrust, securities class actions, and partnership and corporate dissolutions involving asset valuations for projected future earnings, including: successfully defended movie production companies from copyright and breach of contract claims, and when a eight-figure movie deal went gone awry; represented one of the world’s largest computer manufacturers recover from an international optical disk drive price-fixing cartel resulting in favorable settlement; obtaining successful arbitration award on behalf of clients for the right to all future earnings for ongoing movie revenues, award of attorney's fees, and monetary return of all investments in partnership dissolution and breach of fiduciary duty disputes
Kelly received both his B.A. (2013) and J.D. (2016) degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. In his spare time, Kelly enjoys playing soccer and training jiu jitsu at 10th Planet Mission Viejo.
