Ms. Banker, a Bar-certified specialist in workers’ compensation, is a Partner in the firm. Previously, she was a Senior Attorney. She represents self-insured employers, third-party administrators, and corporations in all aspects of workers’ compensation and specializes in Industrial Disability Retirement (IDR) claims. In 2023, Ms. Banker joined the City of Anaheim Community Services board. Laura is also a member of the Massachusetts Bar.

Before joining Michael Sullivan & Associates, Laura was Assistant Managing Attorney for Floyd Skeren & Kelly in Orange, where she supervised 15 professional and administrative employees assigned to special projects related to all aspects of workers’ compensation defense. In addition, she represented the firm in presentations on worker’s compensation law at conferences throughout the state. Earlier in her career, she was an associate attorney for the firm, also defending employers and insurance companies in workers’ compensation.

Laura was Managing Attorney at the Law Offices of Stacey Tokunaga in Orange, where she supervised 30 employees engaged in the practice of workers’ compensation. Here, too, she participated in workers’ comp conferences throughout California.

As In-House Counsel at Sheppard & Woolley in Orange, Laura represented self-insured employers covered by Applied Underwriters, Inc. in workers’ compensation defense and subrogation.

Laura was an Associate Attorney for the Law Offices of Jack H. Davidson in Yorba Linda, representing the defense in worker’s compensation cases. As an Attorney at Mendivel & Jansen in Santa Ana, she represented applicants in workers’ comp cases.

Laura received her Juris Doctor degree cum laude from New England Law in Boston, where she received the American Juris Prudence Award in Criminal Procedure. She received her undergraduate degree, cum laude, from California State University in Sacramento, where she served the Joint Legislative Prison Committee as a state senator’s staff member.
