Ms. Lerner, senior attorney, is an experienced civil litigator who represents both public and private employers in connection with labor and employment matters. She has extensive experience defending individual, class, and PAGA representative actions in state and federal court. She also provides detailed advice and counseling to businesses and management seeking to comply with ever-evolving state and federal labor laws. Ms. Lerner was recently nominated as a 2026 Rising Star by the Super Lawyers organization.
Prior to joining Michael Sullivan & Associates, Ms. Lerner served as an attorney for several prominent employment defense firms, including Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, LLP and Jackson Lewis, P.C., where she advised and counseled employers on a wide range of employment issues. Ms. Lerner has experience defending private and publicly held corporate clients in employment matters in both state and federal court. Ms. Lerner also has experience handling all aspects of litigation, arbitration, and counseling. Prior to her employment defense experience, Ms. Lerner began her career pursuing employment law claims on behalf of employees at Kingsley & Kingsley, APC, providing her unique insight into plaintiffs-side employment law. Notably, Ms. Lerner has also been successful at the appellate level, having prevailed in a matter resulting in a notable published wage and hour/PAGA opinion by the California Court of Appeal.
Ms. Lerner received her Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School, where she served as the Chief Production Editor for the Loyola of Los Angeles International and Comparative Law Review. As a law student, Ms. Lerner served as an extern for the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She also holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Southern California.
