Mr. Elias, associate attorney, represents self-insured employers, third-party administrators, and insurance carriers in all aspects of workers’ compensation defense.
Prior to joining Michael Sullivan & Associates, Mr. Elias served as an attorney for Floyd Skeren Manukian and Langevin, LLP, where he practiced workers compensation defense, including but not limited to Labor Code 132(a) claims and serious and willful claims. He specialized in defending self-insured employers. Previously, Mr. Elias served as an attorney for the Law Office of Joe Mobassernia, P.C., and for Drake Legal Group. He began at the latter firm as an intern before his subsequent promotion.
Mr. Elias began his legal career as case manager for the Blackman Law Firm. He has also worked as a case manager for The Dominguez Firm, as a workers’ compensation coordinator for Avrek Law Firm and as a hearing representative and personal injury assistant for Hong Law, APC.
As a law student, Mr. Elias served many clerkships, internships, and externships, including as a law clerk for the Immigration Rights Project for the Public Counsel, as a legal extern for the Ministry of Justice in Tel Aviv, Israel, and as a judicial extern for Poder Judicial De La Nación De Argentina, in Buenos Aires.
Mr. Elias received his Juris Doctor degree from Whittier College School of Law, where he served as president of the Hispanic American Law Student Association, and Vice-Chair of the National Latino Law Student Association and Student Bar Association. He also holds B.A.s in Political Science and Spanish from Loyola Marymount University.
