Mr. Jacobsmeyer, Senior Attorney, is a Bar-certified Specialist in Workers’ Compensation law and brings more than 40 years of experience in workers’ compensation law.

Before joining Michael Sullivan and Associates, Mr. Jacobsmeyer was a partner at Shaw, Jacobsmeyer, Crain & Claffey, where he represented employers and insurance carriers in matters of workers’ compensation defense. He was previously a partner at Adelson Testan, Brundo & Jimenez, as well as Laughlin, Falbo, Levy & Morsei. Mr. Jacobsmeyer began his legal career at Larson, Jacobsmeyer & Vandersloot as an associate attorney before his subsequent promotion to partner.

Since 2010, Mr. Jacobsmeyer has been Co-Editor in Chief of the California Workers’ Compensation Handbook. He also serves as Amicus Counsel for the Workers’ Compensation Institute. Mr. Jacobsmeyer has won awards for his work in workers’ compensation including Comp Laude National Defense Attorney of the year in 2018 and Work Comp Executive Magazine’s Most Influential People in Workers’ Compensation in 2010.

Mr. Jacobsmeyer received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Santa Clara School of Law. He also holds a B.A. in history from St. Mary’s College.
