Ms. Heptner, a Bar-certified specialist in workers’ compensation, is a Senior Attorney at the firm, representing self-insured employers, third-party administrators, and insurance carriers in all aspects of workers’ compensation.
Before joining Michael Sullivan & Associates, she served as a Senior Attorney at Stander Reubens Thomas & Kinsey, where she specialized in workers’ compensation defense. Previously, Ms. Heptner served as house counsel for a multitude of insurance companies including Travels Insurance Company, Safeco Insurance, Liberty Mutual, Nationwide Insurance, and Wausau Insurance, focusing primarily on workers’ compensation matters. At Farmers’ Insurance, she established the workers’ compensation legal department for the Sacramento area. Ms. Heptner began her law career as a Workers’ Compensation Applicant Attorney for the Law Offices of Thomas W. Anthony Jr. in Sacramento, California.
Ms. Heptner received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where she was a finalist for Best Brief in Moot Court competition. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of California, Davis.
